Messages of Hope in Art: GUERRILLA GIRLS

Guerrilla Girls : An Artist group using facts, humor and outrageous images to expose sexism, racism and corruption in art

I remember the first time I saw their work in Tate Modern, I was outraged. When you’re young, you can’t believe that people know these facts and do nothing about it. Guerrilla girls today remind me to be shocked, to be outraged, to drive the change I yearn to see, and to never settle.

Their work is the truest message of hope, it’s a call for a change for things to be different.

On theVOV, we will launch with 28 artists, 64% of which are female identifying, and 53% are from BAME backgrounds.

We still have work to do, we believe we can always do better. We are ready to listen and to learn, so that one day a Guerrilla Girl poster will have a different story to tell about the Met Museum.
